Today is going to be a relaxing day of doing nothing while waiting for trick-or-treaters to show up later in the afternoon. The weather should be a deterrent, however, as wind, cold, and rain should keep the crowds down. The holiday is nowhere near what it once was, and in recent years there's been a marked decrease in the number of kids coming out. Parents with toddlers, teens, and that's about it. We shall see what the day brings.
I went to a "make an appearance" event last night in Big City, and it was nice, but nothing special. I wouldn't have been missed if I didn't go. I saw some old colleagues and exchanged pleasantries, and that was about it. When I got home I did a little research and chomped on some chips, and proceeded to sleep through the night, which is rare. I feel pretty rested as a result and intend to stay rested throughout the day, just waiting for tonight's ball game.
The big switch comes this weekend with the arrival of standard time. Not my favorite weekend of the year. I have to begin in earnest to tighten things down for the winter. While I don't think there's any snow in the immediate forecast, that can change on a dime come November.
