Hey There! It's 5:23 PM EDT

Sometimes I am fascinated just with how a day unfolds. Today was one of those days.

I got out of bed at around 8 AM. The darker mornings are keeping me in bed longer, which is part of my fascination. In the summer it's so easy to get up at 7AM. In the fall and winter, getting out bed when it's still dark is not inviting.

I have a morning routine, which consists of brewing coffee, taking medications, and absorbing current events. The world is such a shithole now that I barely take the time to delve beyond the headline. I'm a pretty small person in the larger scheme of things, so I've taken to worrying less and less about the state of the nation. When you've lived long enough, you realize finally that this is how it's always been. No sense anymore worrying about it. So the time I take to absorb current events is minimal.

Once I've had a cup of coffee, I will take my walk, unless it's a recovery day. I've discovered it's best to build in recovery days, so I do not walk more than three days in a row without a zero day. But today was a walking day. The park has become less and less populated as the weather has begun to turn colder, which I like. As long as I layer up and there's no snow on the ground, things are good. I usually walk about 30 minutes which translates into about 1.7 miles.

I have breakfast when I get home, which today was a bowl of oat bran. Then generally it's a shower, a second cup of coffee, and time to figure out how the rest of the day will shape up.

Today I had a few errands to run. We use an online service for groceries, so I picked those up today. I had to make an extra stop because one item was out of stock so I picked it up at another store. Then I tried to pick up my blood pressure med, but the line was way too long, so I went home

Now here's the thing: I should have begun working on my podcast. But I didn't feel motivated enough. So I started to dither on the computer. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of my Yahoo account, so I spent time trying to sort what's important in that account and what isn't. I'm using a 14-week free trial to enable forwarding email. That will hopefully let me sort through what shows up.

Then I called my local bank to see about renewing my HELOC. I may or may not do this. It's possible there are too many hurdles to leap to make it worthwhile. Since we no longer technically own the house, it means involving the kids, and we are not sure we want to do that at this point.

Then I went to expanding and importing more Google photos. I unzipped and imported about 15 files.

Then I went back to get my meds.

Then I came home and filtered through all my YouTube subscriptions, and unsubbed from most of them. I created a folder to bookmark the sites I removed, because I may want to watch them in the future, but I don't want to subscribe anymore, as it's more info for google.

Then I took a nap. I am now awake writing this.

So a day on which I actually had planned to do a specific task, I chose instead to fiddle about. That's how days unfold at times. I can still use Monday and Tuesday to prepare my podcast.

Tonight is Game 1 of the 2025 World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. I am rooting for the Blue Jays, but I believe the Dodgers will win. I dislike the Dodgers for moving out of Brooklyn. Can't ever root for them. DW and I will be watching. I am glad we have had three days of no baseball so the game will feel fresh.

'Til We Meet Again!
