Hey There! It's 6:47 PM EDT
Man, I felt like shit yesterday. All day sniffling and sneezing, and zero energy. Yet I did manage to get it two interviews for the podcast. One went very well, while the other was a bit of a technology shit show, but eventually I got something in the can. Not my best work, but I think all 40 of my listeners will survive.
I did watch the two ball games yesterday, and nearly fell through the floor at how the Phillies-Dodgers game ended. It was a moment that will never be forgotten in baseball lore, akin to Merkel's Boner or Bill Buckner's open legs. I mean, that's just heartbreaking stuff after a truly fantastic game. That's why I like baseball so much. It can pack a completely unexpected moment that is dramatic and gut-wrenching. Unbelievable. You can't script this stuff.
I didn't last through the Cubs-Brewers game, although I believe a Game 5 will be played. Tonight it's Game 5 for the Seattle-Detroit game. I can't decide who's my favorite in that, so I'll just watch it and see what happens.
Today I did not plan to do much because I am trying to conserve energy for tomorrow's class. I do feel a lot better, and my nose has seemed to dry up. But I did write a post for my public blog, and have begun downloading 367 files from my Google Takeout request as I prepare to delete all my photos and files from Google's servers and continue my de-big-teching process.
We also took delivery of a new washer that DW bought from her hairdresser. She was moving locations and had to sell the one she had, and the one we had was not functioning, as the timer mechanism had failed. It cost just as much to buy the used one as it would have to call a repairman (provided you could find one) and pay for labor and parts. So I feel we got a good deal. I also went down to my mechanics and had to have two TMPS sensors replaced on the two front tires. $177, which these days is a cheap repair!
We had leftovers for dinner, which relieved DW from having to cook. The steroids she's taking for her hip are having a good effect, but we don't know how long the effect will last. For now, at least the immediate pain is gone. Just waiting now for the game to start in an hour.
