Hey There! It's 11:14 AM MST, 75°F, sunny
Yesterday was a bit hectic and a bit worrisome. Travel doesn't seem to be agreeing with DW these days.
I had to get up at 7:15 to do an interview at 8:00 AM, and I just barely made it. Once the interview was over, I went ahead with my morning routine. I have not been walking at all lately, which is a shame. My soreness is mostly gone, but it seems time demands are eating away at my walking time.
After that, I went ahead and spent the afternoon producing the final podcast for my three-episode absence. I was done by about 1 PM, and once that was completed and scheduled on the site, I was relieved that I had managed to get all that done. No podcast worries now until I get back home.
The troubling part came when DW informed me that her watch was indicating she was in afib. We talked the situation over, and after trying to contact her doctor with not much success, we decided to head to the ER. When we got there, the place was empty, and we practically walked right in. They did their usual poking and prodding, and did an actual EKG, which verified the watch. Her heart beat is a little high, but according to the doctor not out of the range of normal. After a bit of discussion they sent us home and told her to take it easy and monitor herself. I think she's feeling the stress of an upcoming heat wave, the travel, and all that. She might also be feeling the anxiety of me leaving her with our daughter while I head overseas. She is not too good at handling stress, and while she will never ever admit it, she worries a great deal. I think her level of worrying does her no favors, but it's not something I can control, only bring to her attention.
We got back home and fortunately we had something easy to cook for dinner - some pulled pork in a package. I got some rolls and we had the pork as sandwiches, with a salad on the side. After dinner we watched the finale of Star Trek:Academy, which was OK. I still can do without the YA young love stuff, but the action was not bad. Then she went back to watch one of her shows, and I watched a video or two. Bedtime was 11:20 PM
I am hoping nothing too troublesome happens with the rest of the trip. If I thought it would do any good I would fly her back home, but I don't think that will solve anything. We have to take it day by day at this point and see how it goes,
