Hey There!

Yesterday was not a terrible day. The best thing I can say about yesterday was it brought me one day closer to the end of the project. That alone made it a good day.
I got up, went through my morning routine, and that was fine. I made a bowl of oat bran for breakfast. I had an afternoon presentation of the project, and I thought I would drive over to the village and have some coffee and a breakfast sandwich there before going over to the site. But I decided that a breakfast of oat bran would see me through the day better than a breakfast sandwich, so I stayed home.
After breakfast I got cleaned up, and when I came downstairs I had three messages waiting for me. Why do all the messages come when you're in the shower? One was from my presentation partner confirming the time for getting to the site, the other was from my brother letting me know what time he'd be here today, and the third was from Son2. I got into a chat with Son2 about getting the car I am supposed to be selling over to him. It looks like I won't be able to get it there until next week when the project is complete. I wish I had managed to get it there earlier in the month when I had intended to, but the car broke down and I had to bring it back here. It's going to be the first thing I get off my plate when the project closes.
I got to the site by noon, and my partner and I went over the presentation. The public session did not go well. She made numerous mistakes, skipping over whole sections, and I was the one who always had to bring us back. We had a session with the audience afterward, and they seemed clueless, so I guess one could say as long as the onlookers were satisfied and unable to catch the flubs, then fine. But it sticks in my craw that she can't get things we've been over multiple times correct.
After the session was over, as I was packing to leave, I was informed of a meeting I needed to attend right then, that no one told me about. Typical. But at least the good news from the meeting was that it was financially not feasible to bring the presentation to Big City, and that plan was called off. Man, was I glad to hear that! It means that Sunday the project will end with no more plans to move it forward anywhere. I'll be free!
When I got home, DW was surprised to see me, as she thought it was an evening presentation. I plunked on the couch and told her the good news about not have to do it in Big City. She was also happy with the news. She had been baking up a storm, so she had me take over a plate of cookies and muffins to my colleague so they'd get there fresh.
Dinner was leftover chicken breast with Annie's Mac and Cheese and cut veggies. DW cleaned up the kitchen before I could get to it, which she sometimes does after I've worked on the project. I started to skim the internet, but I discovered that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds had dropped its first episode, so DW and I tuned in. Hard to believe I've been watching some form of ST for 60 years now. The episode was good, but it appears this is the final season with 6 episodes designed to tie up loose ends and bring on all the characters that eventually make up the original crew of Star Trek: The Original Series. This version of ST has been the best so far for me, as it is the one that most captures the spirit of the original in my opinion.
When the episode was over, DW had sent me a link to an episode of The Johnny Carson Show that had Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters as guests. Very funny! Then I found an hour-long video of Steve Martin's early work, and watched that, as well as two other short Steve Martin videos. I had forgotten how what a "wild and crazy guy" he was when he was starting out. That took me to bedtime at 11:22 PM.
'Til We Meet Again!
