Hey There! it's 9:06 AM MST, 45°F, sunny
Yesterday was an OK day; nothing special, but an attempt to get back to something normal. I did my usual morning routine - made coffee, scanned headlines and emails, took a walk, had breakfast, showered. By the time all that is done it's usually 3 hours later in the day.
DW and I went to the Farmer's market yesterday and dropped some cash. Our haul included Alaskan fish, some homemade snacks such as corn nuts and dried fruit, a homemade pasta dinner, some bagels (he boils them), some lettuce, some coffee, and some rice pudding. We split a pulled pork sandwich for lunch, along with a handheld peach pie. We were looking to buy some beef but the beef guy wasn't there. DW I think doesn't like the location much because it's pretty gravelly, so she seemed hesitant to move. But we made it.
The afternoon was spent diddling about. It's just cold enough (upper 50s) not to be able to sit outside or do anything much outdoors. One thing this place lacks is a good park with walking pathways. I find walking the neighborhood path a bit boring, but so far I haven't found any other decent park path. Trees are scarce anyway; there's no escaping it's a desert. But it is quiet, to be sure.
I had a discussion with Son2 about the upcoming baseball season and the Yankee's apparent disinterest in bringing in new talent. He thinks they're OK; I think they're running back the same old team that lost last year. I should have napped, but didn't. But I have been looking at videos about multitools and minivan camping, which pass the time.
Dinner was leftover Tuscan soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. We watched an episode of Star Trek: Academy, a series I am not liking all that much. I think I watch in the hope it will get better, but it doesn't. I listened to a review on some NPR podcast and the review sounded like three high school students gushing over hot teenagers and their hormones. Terrible. Spent some time with YouTube videos and went to bed around 11 PM. So getting back to some normalcy.
I now have to concentrate a little more on preparing for Japan. My SIL called me and we talked about taking tours in lieu of trying to walk randomly about the city. Tours might be a good idea. I am not sure how my stamina will hold out. Walking has a purpose now - getting my stamina built up.
