Hey There! It's 8:27 AM EST, 21°F, windy and overcast. The snow continues to pile up.

Yesterday was busy. I feel now that I am packing for two trips at once, which I am, because I have to make sure I have everything that I will need from home with me when we leave for AZ. We're not coming back here before that trip.

I spent the morning hours straightening up my back office, shredding papers and clearing off my desk. It looks OK now, not like a bomb hit it. I generally like to leave my desk untouched, as I'm one of those people whose space may be a mess but I know where everything is. It didn't really take too long.

Then I went down to the basement and began to straighten things out there. That's been a little bit harder. I re-stacked all the camping boxes and power stations, straightened out the paper products corner, and put the recycling over to one side. I was unable to put the recycling out last Monday due to extremely high winds, so it's piled up in the basement. I also washed some curtains that were down there. As of now, things are sort of straightened up, but nothing is packed for the trip. That happens today. I also ran the car that had the dead battery to make sure the battery hasn't died again. It's still good.

When I got tired I stopped and came back upstairs to do more Japan research. I have a pretty long list now of sites to see, and I also created a spreadsheet so people can record what sites they most want to take in - a Top Ten list. When you're only going for 10 days you can't see everything.

We had a New Year's Day dinner of beef tenderloin with mushroom sauce, fried zucchini, and baked sweet potato. The beef was cooked superbly by DW, and she actually cooked it on the same day Son2 was cooking his half, so they exchanged processes. Very tender and enjoyable!

In the evening DW and I watched Spinal Tap: The End Continues. We thought it was very funny and enjoyed it a lot. It was bittersweet to see Rob Reiner in his last film, though. I'm old enough to remember him as Mike "Meathead" Spivek in All In The Family. A pretty sad story.

I didn't do much after the movie. By 10:30 PM I went in to clean up the kitchen and then went to bed at 11:00 PM. Another day in the books!
