Hey There!

It's 7:50 AM EDT, 73°F, Humidity 89%, Wind 3 mph SW, rain, AQI 58

Yesterday was a pretty full day. I started out with another shortened version of my morning routine, as I needed to be on the golf course by 9 AM. I was a little smarter this time, taking 2 Advil before I went to the course. We walked nine holes, which is good exercise. I shot one par, and missed another one by inches. It seems I continue to have poor luck having balls drop in the hole.

When I got home I took another two Advil, and showered up. I had a dentist appointment soon after, but before that I finally bit the bullet and started the process of having my new domain name transferred over to my public blog. The frustration level had gotten too high, and so I just spent the $25 to get the job done. Sometimes I wonder why I am so cheap at times. I think it stems from wanting to give the most money I can over to my children when I pass. I mean, $25 to solve this problem is nothing, but the original purchase of the domain was $12.80. You get what you pay for in the end.

The dentist found no lingering issues from my recent inflammation around an upper tooth. So basically I had two dental appointments for nothing. I guess you could call them precautionary. My inflammation went down of its own accord, but I'm sure the antibiotic was helpful. The dentist did give me a bottle of some mouthwash-y kind of medication which can help stop a similar inflammation in the future.

I went over to Sonic for a burger and lemonade for lunch. While I was there I set up an interview for today, as my podcast season is slowly coming back. Then I went down to the performing arts center to help out the box office manager with some issues on her personal phone and her office computer. They were quick, easy problems to solve.

As long as I was there, I went up to see the executive director about this season on the podcast, which will be my last season. He's been helping to get some people to do interviews for me and lighten my load, and I also told him I was going to simplify a lot of the secondary material I usually use. I think he's OK with me leaving at this point, and of course it's important to try and get someone else who can keep the podcast going. It has to be something that outlasts just me, but I am not 100% sure that will be the case. Pet projects of a single individual do not usually last past the individual's participation. The only exception would be if the project becomes a significant revenue stream, which my podcast certainly is not.

When I got home I checked on my blog transfer, and talked a bit with DW about a house in Son2's city. I think she finally understands we don't have to move there right away. So she is taking on the task of preparing a spreadsheet with all the possible houses laid out so she can keep them straight in her head. Son2 is looking at one of those houses today, I believe. It will be interesting to see what he thinks of it.

I took a nap, and for once it was a good nap, one I woke up from feeling more refreshed than groggy. I grilled a pork loin that DW had marinated, while she prepared potatoes and veggies. I had another ear of sweet corn; it's that time of year! Then we settled in for an evening of TV.

We took in the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, an episode which was, I think, their series "humorous " one. It's a trope that ST has done over the years - a vacation gone wrong - and it was OK. The actors got to do some silly things, and I am sure it was fun for them to film.

Then we watched the New York Heights play the San Francisco Firebells in the WPBL. I think, as the excitement is wearing off, we can see that the calibre of play is low, about high school level. Many of these women play wherever they can, and have experience, but it's still a game full of walks and errors. I don't know how they are going to get more players, but I think they have to continue to try and exist so they can develop the players they want. And they have to get way better announcers.

DW went up to bed early, and since the game was a blowout, I did not watch until the end. I checked in on a Youtube channel I follow about teardrop campers, and then went to bed myself at about 11:07 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
