Hey There!

Man, it is a beautiful day today! The sun is shining, temperature is 70°, very slight breeze, little humidity. I'm on the back porch enjoying a beer, and just finished listening to the ball game. It doesn't get much better than this!

I had planned to go up to the campsite today, but I changed my plans, and instead DW and I will go out tomorrow for the day. I think our camping days are over, as DW's physical limitations just make camping too painful and difficult. I may do one or maybe two solo trips, but I also see my camping days being over as well. Camping alone is not too much fun, and in some ways, given my present age and lifestyle, somewhat pointless. Home is comfortable, quiet, and convenient, and there isn't any stress I need to escape in my life anymore. So I think the reasons for camping - including traveling - are fading. I don't see much of it in our future.

I managed to get my next podcast in the can by the end of last evening. I picked up the groceries this morning, and then in the afternoon did some financial chores. I changed insurance carriers for one of my cars and saved probably $350. Then we made a few adjustments to our bills. We've had some high bills this summer with car repairs and supporting our kids. I don't know how young people survive financially these days.

Last night I had what I call a traditional Labor Day meal - grilled sirloin steak, sweet corn, and a salad. Very yummy. Tonight it looks like a roast chicken and some other sides, possibly another ear of corn. Corn season is coming to an end, but grape pie season is approaching. Autumn is our favorite season, and I hope we get out and do a few cool things for the fall.
